The Little Schoolhouse Preschool is a weekday ministry of Hope Church. Our mission is to provide the community with a loving and safe Christian environment for the education and whole development of young children. Our school focuses on meeting the developmentally appropriate academic, social, physical and spiritual needs of children ages 30 months through five years. This center is a Step Up to Quality two star awarded program that meets the quality benchmarks of the State of Ohio. The Little Schoolhouse is in operation September through May.
Stepping Stones - Tiny Turtles
This class was created to nurture our youngest students as they begin their preschool journey. We will come alongside parents to assist with their child’s social/emotional/spiritual growth that will be the main focus for this first year of preschool. Children must be 30 months old by October 1st of the attending year to participate in this class. Children do not need to be fully potty trained to attend this class.
2 days: Th/F 9:00-12:00
Class Ratio: 10 children, 1 lead teacher, 1 assistant teacher
Building Blocks - Bears and Elephants
Because this will be the first preschool experience for many children in these classes, we will continue to keep our focus on the social/emotional/spiritual aspect. Once children begin to adjust to their classroom environment, teachers can begin to introduce basic concepts found within our guidelines for the Early Learning Content Standards of this age group. Children must be potty trained for these classes.

Transitions - Frogs and Butterflies
In these pre-kindergarten classes, children discover math, science, social studies, and, language & literacy concepts through active participation in a hands-on environment. The children will also continue to refine their social/emotional development to increase their independence, and reinforce critical listening and participation skills that are necessary for Kindergarten readiness.

Connections - Penguins
This class is specifically designed for children who either do not meet the age requirement for Kindergarten, or who may need an extra year to further develop their social/emotional, and perhaps, even their cognitive skills before entering Kindergarten. Children attending this class have completed a year in the transitions class. The curriculum for Connections is a continuum from the transitions class to offer these children further preparation before entrance into kindergarten. The transitions class is a prerequiste to the connections class.
